Day 3 Cotswolds Ride

Today’s ride commenced at Amberley Common. We could see Princess Anne’s home in the distance before making our way around the cows on the common, dodging golfers, walkers, kite flyers and plenty of dogs.

From there we rode through Minchinhampton, on to Box Village, through the Crupp Valley, and along the ridge overlooking Stroud. We stopped at Winstone’s Cotswold Ice Cream on Rodborough Common, where strawberries and cream was too tempting to resist!

We covered 13.26 kilometres, with plenty of steep climbs and descents. Some of the hills made me a little uncomfortable, but my trusty steed, Rolland, had my back the entire way. I never once felt he would let me down.

We trotted through the main streets, enjoyed a canter across the commons, and finished the ride with drinks back at the horsebox.

Lunch was at The Bear of Rodborough, which had a lovely outdoor area with plenty of seating and umbrellas—perfect for relaxing after the ride.

Back at The Orangery, we enjoyed a refreshing shower before settling in for a lazy afternoon with a bottle of local bubbles from Woodchester Valley Winery.

Dinner, prepared by Georgina, was waiting for us in the fridge to enjoy at our leisure. It was the perfect end to another fabulous day in the Cotswolds, followed by an early night before our final day of riding tomorrow.
